On April 2, 2026, the parish community gathered in large numbers at 5:00 PM to commemorate Maundy Thursday, a sacred occasion that marks the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood. The solemn Holy Mass was celebrated with deep devotion and reverence, drawing the faithful into the spirit of prayer and reflection.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash Dsilva, who served as the main celebrant for the liturgy. Assisting in the service was Deacon Wilfred Steven, who delivered a meaningful homily centered on the essence of humility, service, and love, as exemplified by Jesus Christ during the Last Supper.
The liturgy beautifully reflected the significance of the day, especially through the symbolic rituals that remind the faithful of Christ’s act of washing the feet of His disciples. The congregation actively participated in the prayers, hymns, and readings, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere within the church.
Maundy Thursday also marks the beginning of the Easter Triduum, the most important period in the liturgical calendar of the Church. The faithful were encouraged to continue their spiritual journey through Good Friday and prepare their hearts for the joyous celebration of Easter.
The celebration concluded with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, inviting parishioners to spend time in silent prayer and contemplation, reflecting on the profound love and sacrifice of Christ.
