The faithful gathered in large numbers at the parish church on Friday, April 3, 2026, to mark Good Friday with deep reverence and prayerful reflection, commemorating the passion and death of Jesus Christ.
The day’s observances began at 8:30 in the morning with the Stations of the Cross. Parishioners prayerfully journeyed through each station, meditating on the suffering and sacrifice of Christ. The devotion created a solemn atmosphere, allowing the faithful to spiritually accompany the Lord on His path to Calvary.
In the evening at 5:00 PM, the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion commenced. The liturgy was led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash Dsilva, as the main celebrant, with Deacon Wilfred Steven Rodrigues assisting him. The service included the Liturgy of the Word, the solemn intercessions, the veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion.
The proclamation of the Passion narrative invited the congregation into a deeper understanding of Christ’s immense love and sacrifice for humanity. During the veneration of the Cross, the faithful came forward with humility and devotion, expressing their gratitude and reverence.
The entire celebration was marked by silence, prayer, and a spirit of penance, reminding everyone of the significance of Good Friday in the Christian faith. The day concluded on a reflective note, preparing the faithful to await the joy of the Resurrection.
