The faithful gathered at the parish church on April 4, 2026 at 7:00 PM to solemnly celebrate the Easter Vigil, the most sacred liturgy in the Christian calendar, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The celebration began outside the church with the blessing of the new fire, symbolizing the light of Christ dispelling the darkness of sin and death. From this blessed fire, the Paschal candle was lit, and the congregation entered the church in a reverent procession, carrying the light into the darkened space as a sign of hope and new life.
Following the procession, the Holy Mass commenced. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash Dsilva, was the main celebrant, and he was joined by Deacon Wilfred Steven. The liturgy was conducted with great devotion and spiritual fervor, drawing the faithful into deep reflection on the significance of Christ’s resurrection.
The homily was delivered by Deacon Wilfred Steven, who spoke meaningfully about the victory of life over death and encouraged the faithful to embrace the joy and renewed faith that Easter brings.
The celebration concluded on a joyful note, with the distribution of juice and snacks to all those gathered, fostering a sense of community and fellowship among parishioners.
The Easter Vigil was a spiritually uplifting experience, filling the hearts of the faithful with hope, joy, and the promise of new beginnings.
