Kokkada, April 13, 2025 — The ICYM unit organized a serene and spiritually enriching Taize Prayer service on Sunday evening at our Church, Kokkada. The event began at 7:30 PM and was led by Rev. Fr. Abel, who gently guided the congregation into a peaceful time of reflection, silence, and communion with God.
The young members of ICYM unit worked with dedication to prepare the church, transforming the space with candles, soft lighting, and a contemplative prayer setup. Their efforts created a calm and welcoming environment that set the tone for a deeply meaningful evening. The prayer service was enhanced by the soulful melodies of the choir, led by Deacon Marvin Praveen Lobo.
The combination of gentle music, heartfelt singing, and periods of silence created a moving atmosphere that allowed the participants to reflect deeply on their faith. Around 100 parishioners and youth attended the event, participating with great devotion. The prayer flowed seamlessly with chants, meditative songs, and silent reflection, capturing the true essence of the Taizé tradition — unity, simplicity, and peace.
This prayer evening was more than just an event; it was a spiritually refreshing experience for all who attended. It served as a beautiful reminder of the importance of prayer, silence, and the strength found in community. The ICYM Kokkada Unit’s initiative was widely appreciated and stands as a testament to the vibrant spiritual life and commitment of the parish youth.
