On Sunday, April 13, 2025, our parish community gathered in faith and devotion to celebrate Palm Sunday, marking the solemn beginning of Holy Week. The celebration was led by Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash Dsilva along with Deacon Marwin Praveen Lobo. The celebration began with the blessing of palms, a significant tradition commemorating the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, where He was greeted by crowds waving palm branches.
The palms were brought forward by the heads of each ward, symbolizing unity within the parish community. Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash D'silva blessed the palms with solemn prayers, invoking God's grace upon all the faithful present. Following the blessing, the congregation, holding the blessed palms, took part in a procession into the church, singing hymns of praise and recalling the joyous welcome Jesus received from the people of Jerusalem.
The Holy Mass commenced, beautifully reflecting the spirit of Palm Sunday. The liturgy included the reading of the Passion of Christ, reminding the faithful of the sacrifice and love of our Lord. Deacon Marwin Praveen Lobo delivered the homily, reflecting deeply on the humility, sacrifice, and love of Jesus, and urged the congregation to walk with Him through His suffering and to prepare their hearts for the joy of Easter.
The celebration was marked by reverence, participation, and a deep sense of spiritual reflection, as the parish community stepped into the holiest week of the Christian calendar.
