On 18 January 2026, our parish joyfully celebrated the inauguration of “The Year of Children – 2026” during the Sunday Holy Mass. The solemn Eucharistic celebration marked the beginning of a special year dedicated to the spiritual growth, care, and formation of children, recognizing them as the hope and future of the Church.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Ashok D’souza as the main celebrant. He was joined at the altar by the Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash D’silva, Parish Priest, and Deacon Wilfred Stevan Rodrigues. The inauguration during the Mass highlighted the Church’s commitment to nurturing faith and values among children in accordance with the vision of The Year of Children – 2026.
Following the Mass, a felicitation programme was organized in honour of Rev. Fr. Ashok D’souza, who is preparing to travel abroad to continue his priestly mission. Rev. Fr. Ashok has served our parish for more than five years, offering dedicated and selfless service. He had returned to his hometown due to a family emergency, and during his stay, he actively supported parish activities and pastoral needs. During the felicitation ceremony, Rev. Fr. Ashok D’souza, accompanied by his mother, was honoured for his commitment and contribution.
The programme was graced by the presence of Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash D’Silva, Vice President Mrs. Shanthi Priya D’souza, Secretary Mrs. Laveena D’souza, all Commission Head Mrs. Winnifred Clara D’souza, Deacon Wilfred Stevan Rodrigues, members of all church organizations, ward heads and representatives, and a large gathering of parishioners. During the felicitation programme, the parish choir team rendered a thanksgiving song in honour, expressing the gratitude and love of the parish community.
The event was compered by Mr. Vincent Menezes, who guided the programme smoothly and meaningfully. Speakers expressed gratitude for Rev. Fr. Ashok’s humble service, pastoral care, and deep connection with the parish.
At the conclusion of the programme, all the parishioners extended their heartfelt wishes, prayers, and love to Rev. Fr. Ashok D’souza, praying for a safe journey and continued blessings in his future mission.
