The parish community of Kokkada joyfully celebrated Christmas on 24-12-2025 with deep faith, devotion, and a vibrant festive spirit. The celebrations began in the evening at 6:30 p.m. with melodious Christmas carol singing, creating an atmosphere of joy and spiritual preparation for the solemn feast of the Nativity of Our Lord.
A special highlight of the evening was the participation of six carol groups representing the six wards of the parish. One group from each ward sang Christmas carols, spreading the message of love, peace, and hope through their harmonious voices. The active involvement of parishioners added unity and enthusiasm to the celebration.
At 7:00 p.m., the community gathered reverently for the Holy Mass, which was solemnly celebrated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anil Prakash D’Silva, as the main celebrant. The Holy Mass was a spiritually enriching experience, reminding the faithful of the humble birth of Infant Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas.
After the Holy Mass, Christmas cake and Refreshment drink were served to all parishioners, fostering a spirit of sharing and fellowship among the gathered community.
Following this, the Catholic Sabha, Kokkada Unit organized a grand cultural event titled “NOELUX – The Christmas Light.” The programme began with the joyful welcoming of Santa Claus, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony by the Parish Priest along with Santa. The cultural programme then commenced, where parishioners from all six wards presented various cultural performances. The event reflected the talents, unity, and joy of the parish families.
The Christmas celebration concluded on a joyful note, leaving behind cherished memories and strengthening the bonds of faith and fellowship within the parish community.
May the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ fill every home with peace, love, and hope. As we celebrate Christmas, may the light of Bethlehem guide our hearts, strengthen our faith, and inspire us to live in unity, compassion, and service to one another. May the joy of Christmas remain with our parish families throughout the year.
