The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Kokkada Unit, organised a vibrant and inspiring SMART Camp for children on Sunday, 26 August, at St. John’s Baptist Church, Kokkada. The camp brought together 47 enthusiastic children for a day filled with faith, learning, fun, and fellowship.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anli Prakash D'Silva, and ICYM Animator Sunil Menezes. It was led by Deacon Wilfred Stevan Rodrigues, who guided the children through a series of engaging sessions, interactive activities, and team-building exercises. The theme of the camp, SMART, highlighted five essential values for Christian living: Spirit, Mission, Action, Responsibility, and Team. Through creative presentations and group activities, the participants were encouraged to strengthen their faith, develop leadership qualities, work together as a team, and embrace their responsibilities within the Church and society.
ICYM President Jaison Montheiro warmly welcomed the gathering, setting a joyful tone for the day, while Secretary Lawrence Vineeth Monthero coordinated the programme and ensured its smooth conduct.
Throughout the camp, the children participated with great enthusiasm in the various sessions and activities. The programme provided them with opportunities to build friendships, deepen their spiritual values, strengthen teamwork, and grow into responsible and committed members of the Church and society.
The SMART Camp concluded on a joyful and meaningful note, leaving the participants with cherished memories and valuable life lessons. The successful organization of the camp reflected the dedication and commitment of the ICYM Kokkada Unit in nurturing the faith and holistic development of children in the parish.
