On July 27, 2025, the Catholic Sabha Kokkada Unit joyfully celebrated the Laudato Si’ Van Mahotsav at St. John the Baptist Church, Kokkada. The event was organized to spread awareness about environmental conservation and to promote the spirit of caring for creation, inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si’ – Care for Our Common Home.”
The celebration began in the evening with a prayer, seeking God’s blessings for the protection of nature and for the success of the planting initiative. Following the prayer, members of the Catholic Sabha came together to plant saplings in the church premises, symbolizing growth, renewal, and the collective responsibility to safeguard the environment.
Through this initiative, the members emphasized the importance of preserving trees and protecting nature for future generations. The event also served as a reminder of the Church’s mission to take practical steps in addressing environmental challenges.
The Catholic Sabha Kokkada Unit expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants and well-wishers who contributed to the success of the Laudato Si’ Van Mahotsav Celebration, reaffirming their commitment to nurture and protect God’s creation through faith and action.
